Student Achievement Testing

Aural Awareness Test

MMTA is be offering the SAT Aural Awareness Test to participating chapters via ZOOM.

Participation is open to all chapters of the MMTA.

Below is a Google Link to a form which will collect names, emails, levels and chapters. After the information has been entered, we will send all of the students and teachers their assigned testing time and a Zoom link. The deadline for registering for this activity is February 3, 2024 by 6 pm.

The tests will be scheduled in 30 minute slots on two dates, February 10 from 2 PM to 5:30 PM and February 18 from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. Students can choose whichever date is best for them. The students will receive their specific time after they register. The aural examples will be played digitally over Zoom.

Since every association/chapter uses different student numbering systems, the student will be asked to write their name on the test. It will be each chapter’s responsibility to ensure the student’s AA test is collated with the other in-person tests given on testing day. Level 1-5 tests may be corrected by the teacher and should be turned in with the other tests on testing day for recording keeping. Level 6-12 must be corrected by someone other than the student’s teacher.

Some important things to remember:

  • Students should not be near, or at their piano when taking the test.
  • Students should have a good internet connection.
  • Students should be alone when taking the test with no distractions. (TV, Pets, noise etc.)
  • Students should print out their test on the day of their testing. They will receive a link to a PDF of their specific test in the email on the day of their test.
  • Teachers will be cc’d on all communication with the student about the test. Teachers are welcome to listen to the testing on either day.
