Michigan Music Teachers Association recognizes one recipient per year with the Distinguished Service Award. The recipient is honored at the annual state convention, and presented with a plaque to commemorate the achievement. 

Local Association Teacher of the Year recipients are also recognized at the state convention and receive a plaque from the state in recognition of the honor.

Each year the state provides certificates to local chapters for each participant in Student Achievement Testing. Trophies are awarded to students every other year of Student Achievement Testing participation. The trophies are ordered and distributed by the local chapter.

The state awards ribbons and certificates to each participant that qualifies for and participates in Semi-Finals. Plaques are awarded to State Finalists. Plaques are also awarded to Concerto Competition winners.
